QUALITY SLEEP – HOME-COOKED FOOD – EXERCISE AND BEING OUT IN THE FRESH AIR WILL REGENERATE YOUR BODY AND MIND
What do you ask us most and what do we answer most? So let’s get to it:
Because you want to open yourself up to new possibilities and places you’ve never been before. Maybe you want to visit a place where there is so much sun that the wine is sweet as honey, a place where there is so much water that the surroundings play beautifully with a myriad of shades of green. Spend your holiday in a place where the people are kind and cheerful. A place where it is quiet, where cows and sheep graze, horses run, and the yolks of eggs are as golden as dandelions. Here even the most demanding person will be satisfied, because his brain will be so oxygenated that he will only need to BE to live and be happy.
And when you have had enough of RELAXING, we will help you plan and take advantage of the possibilities that our position offers:

When we have all the rooms full, we need space to set up the room for you. Our Sabine is like lightning and by 2pm the room is ready for you.
Anne-Sophie will wait until 8pm to welcome you.
So you can check in between 2 pm and 8 pm.
However, we understand that planes fly at other times, or cars can be unexpectedly delayed somewhere, or you might find a shortcut and arrive earlier, so if it’s just a little bit possible, we’ll be happy to accommodate you and make you stay earlier or wait longer. You just have to let us know in advance.
If the guesthouse is fully booked, you can wait with us downstairs in a comfortable chair or outside in the sun. With a glass of Jurançon, the time will pass like water.
Time moves slowly in south-west France and we’d love you to experience it for yourself. Have a leisurely breakfast, pack your bags, enjoy the view one last time and if you make it to 11:00-11:30, we’ll be glad.
Anne-Sophie will greet you on arrival. She will need your travel documents and will present you with your accommodation contract to sign, show you to your room and answer all your questions about meals, excursions, etc.
When booking a room we need a 30% deposit to make the reservation binding for both parties.
It is then possible to pay on the spot with cash or card. If you want to feel like a typical Frenchman, pay by cheque.
We use rainwater to wash our hands in the communal toilets downstairs in the guesthouse, as well as in the outdoor shower by the pool and in the garden hose. It’s environmentally friendly and the price for sewerage and water charges is very reasonable indeed. Only potable water runs everywhere in the rooms and kitchen.

It’s just easier with a car. The French countryside is well suited to car travel.
I’m sure it’s fine without a car. For adventure lovers who want to move around without a car, here are the following options:
– The public bus stop is 10 minutes by foot from the guesthouse. The bus will take you to the centre of Pau and the Pau train station, as well as in the opposite direction to the nearest mountain valley. In winter, a ski bus runs to the slopes.
– The train station is also an even closer walk than the bus from the guest house. You can also take the train from Gan train station to Pau train station, as well as to the second nearest mountain valley. From Pau train station there are trains to Bordeaux, Biarritz, Toulouse, Tarbes, Lourdes…
– You can use the UBER taxi service.
– Pau can also be reached comfortably by bike or by walking, but that will be quite a trip.
Although our guesthouse is domestic, our team is international. We are fluent in Czech/Slovak, English, French, German and Spanish, and can also communicate in Polish and Russian. We can help with everything, don’t be afraid to ask.
No, unfortunately the design of the former several hundred year old farm does not allow it.
Our guesthouse is in a beautiful quiet location, on the edge of the woods, but a taxi or Uber taxi will arrive to take you away. Don’t hesitate to ask us to help you book a reliable driver.
Wireless internet access is available in all rooms as well as in the main rooms and outside on the terrace. For those who need quiet for work or online entertainment, there are plenty of places to hide away in privacy. However, from our own experience, we recommend you try to put the electronics away for a while and fully embrace nature, French wine and yourself.
The guest house is non-smoking inside (including electronic cigarettes), but smoking is allowed outside on the terrace outside breakfast and dinner times.
Right in the guesthouse awaits you: table football, books, cinema with interesting French films.
Outside the guesthouse, if you don’t want to get wet, we recommend a visit to the caves, wine tasting, ocean aquarium, local markets in Pau, chocolate shop.
Or just dress well and go hiking, golfing or rafting, then dry off in the evening.
It depends on what you want to experience. Actually, we’re still working on the answer to that question. We think it’s beautiful 12 months of the year, which is why we moved here permanently.
